Ravichandran Ashwin Shines In VAP Trophy Match Ahead Of Australia ODIs

India National Cricket Team off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin bowled very well for Mylapore Recreational Club A against Young Stars Cricket Club at SSN ground in the TNCA VAP Trophy on Tuesday.

This performance came following Ashwin’s ODI recall for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, which will act as the World Cup trials for the likes of Ashwin and Washington Sundar. The matches will be played on September 22, 24 and 27.

Ashwin has made his ODI comeback after a long time as he last played a 50-over cricket game for India on January 21, 2022, against the South Africa National Cricket Team at Boland Park in Paarl.

Notably, the injury picked by Axar Patel during the Asia Cup 2023 has opened the gate for the comeback of both Washington Sundar and Ravichandran Ashwin in the ODI setup.
