Kyle Walker has been known for his speed over the years – but the defender is no longer the quickest player at Manchester City according to the latest EA Sports FC video game.
The 33-year-old won the Treble with City last season and has enjoyed a trophy laden spell at the Etihad Stadium after his move from Tottenham Hotspur in 2017.
Question marks had been raised over Walker’s long-term future at City with his deal having been due to expire next summer, and rumours of a potential move to Bayern Munich.
Walker has amassed 260 appearances for City and scored six goals after recently commencing his seventh season at the Etihad Stadium.
One of the defender’s key traits throughout his career has been his marauding runs from right-back and his pace, which has frequently been illustrated by the FIFA games.
Winger Jeremy Doku joined City from French side Rennes in a reported £55.5 million deal, with a goal and two appearances so far since his move.
And with that move, he has been given a pace rating of 91 by EA Sports, in so doing just pipping Walker, who still has an impressive rating of 90, though the right-back has taken the change in good spirits and believes the Belgium international is only ahead of him over five metres and that he himself is still quicker.
He said: “So I’ve seen my card. I think the ratings have come down, actually. I’m not the quickest at City anymore.
“Jeremy is a 91. He is quicker than me… over five metres, we’ll say.
“Usain Bolt runs in a 100m race, he doesn’t run in a five metre race. I still say that I am quicker.”
